A Word from the Pastor
What a wonderful worship service this past Sunday was. We
welcomed a new member into God’s family and the church family, Breanna Bobo. We
will continue the celebration with plans to baptize Breanna on Sunday morning
May 18th. Please keep her in your prayers and support her growth as a new
Christian. We also had the opportunity to welcome some new neighbors and
visiting guest.
As we think about the future of Immanuel Baptist church let’s
keep in mind the purpose of the church and in particular the fact that each of
us has a God-given, God-designed purpose for our life. That purpose is to do the
work of ministry with our spiritual gifts and talents in service to Him. With
that thought in mind let me share something I received in an email recently that
is a good reminder of what we are freely and continuously given by the Lord. It
is an expression of His deep abiding grace in our lives everyday regardless of
our response. It should also be a reminder of the debt of love we owe. It is
simply called "What if?"
What if?
What if God couldn’t take the time to bless us today because
we couldn’t take the time to thank Him yesterday?
What if God decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we didn’t follow Him
today?
What if we never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when God sent the
rain?
What if God didn’t walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as His
day?
What if, God took away the Bible tomorrow because we would not read it today?
What if, God took away His message because we failed to listen to the messenger?
What if, God didn’t send His only begotten son because He wanted us to be
prepared to pay the price for sin?
What if, the door of the church was closed because we did not open the door of
our heart?
What if, God stopped loving and caring for us because we failed to love and care
for others?
What if, God would not hear us today because we would not listen to Him?
What if, God answered our prayers the way we answer His call to service?
What if, God met our needs the way we give Him our live
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Mother's Day
May God bless all the Mothers
That give of themselves
And tend to their household needs
Before the needs of ‘self’
For they are there with comfort
For each child’s broken heart
Bringing them to God in prayer
With His love to impart.
